*Water beading tests are conducted on panels that have been taken off of the test fence and stored indoors for 7 days. The results are subjectively reported as Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor, depending on the shape of the water bead and the amount of darkening of the wood caused by wetting.
% Absorption is tested on exposed wood panels that have been stored indoors for 7 days. Each panel is accurately weighed, and then completely immersed in water for 30 minutes. After removing the panel from the tank, the excess water is blotted off with a paper towel and the panel reweighed. The difference in weight before and after water immersion is the amount of water retained in the panel and is expressed as a percentage.
